The “Vienna Forum for the Modernization of the Black Sea Region”, which had taken place in Tbilisi in March 2016, led to a visible result.
A delegation from Georgia visited Vienna from the 2nd to 6th of May 2016. The purpose of the visit was to start a cooperation in the fields of city development – “smart city” and education an to meet important persons in Vienna and to get linked to institutions.
Participants were Anzor Sharashanize and vice rector the university. Sharashanize is rector of the David Agmaschenebeli University in Tbilisi. He came as official representing of Tbilisi’s Mayor David Namaniya, too.
There were official business meetings in the administration office of Vienna with Omar Al-Rawi (Socialist Party of Austria, city Parliament) and Philip Lehner (official of the staff of the Vienna administration for foreign and European affairs). The meetings dealt with the city development – “smart city”. Tbilisi is admiring Viennese possibilities and wants to learn from Vienna in this field to get ideas for its own development.
Mr. Shrashanize visited the High Technical Institute Camillo-Sitte in the 3rd district of Vienna, too.
Georgia is really interested to improve its standards of technical education considering the Austrian model of education in the field of High Technical Institutes.
At the end of these very important days a contract belonging cooperations between the Tbilisi university and the Austrian Institute of Caucasus Studies was signed.
Eine Delegation aus Georgien besuchte von 2. – 6. Mai 2016 Wien, um zwischen Tbilisi und Wien eine Zusammenarbeit in den Bereichen nachhaltige Stadtentwicklung – smart city und Ausbildung kompetente Persönlichkeiten zu besuchen und entsprechende Kontakte zu knüpfen.
Teilnehmer war Prof. Anzor Sharashenidze und Vize Rektor der Universität, Rektor der Tbiliser Universität David Aghmashenebeli. Er repräsentierte auch die Stadt Tbilisi als Beauftragter seines Bürgermeisters Davit Narmania.
Es fanden Gespräche im Rathaus und im Magistrat der Stadt Wien unter Beteiligung von Dipl. Ing. Omar Al-Rawi (SPÖ, Gemeinderat) und Mag. Philip Lehner (Internationale Abteilung der Gemeinde Wien) statt. Dabei ging es um die städtebauliche Zusammenarbeit, den sozialen Wohnbau und die „smart city“.
